As part of Year 3's Egyptian learning, we have been writing a diary entry from the perspective of Howard Carter when he discovers Tutankhamun tomb.
Year 4 brought their learning from their mountains and rivers topic to create some brilliant topography models. The children accompanied their models with labels and then presented their understanding to the group, showcasing their broad knowledge.
Year 4 consolidated our Mayan learning with the help of Robbie from 'Past Productions Theatre'. We had a fantastic day, filled with engaging and purposeful learning opportunities.
Over the past few weeks, Year 1 have been practising their drawing skills. Today they used all of the skills and techniques they have been practising to help them to complete a 'half' picture. Their amazing flowers have blown us away!
Year 2 have been learning about inspirational women who have changed history. Today there has been a protest march which arrived in Mrs Harrison's office, demanding that women should be allowed to vote.
It was lovely to welcome so many parents into school today for the Year 1 poetry performance. The children were superb: individual pupils welcomed the parents and explained their learning and the whole year group performed their poetry perfectly!
Year 4 have had a magnificent Mayan Day today...even Mr Horsburgh and Mr Blakeman couldn't help but get involved!
The ducklings have arrived at Northgate. Since hatching out of their cosy eggs, the ducklings have become some of the most popular members of the school. Very cute and very cuddly too!!
After learning all about how the pawns and rooks move, we had some friendly matches to help hone our skills.
