Spring term has a geography focus to our learning with the pupils exploring the Antarctic climate and geographical features of this continent. They then learn about the Savannah and compare the locations. The science learning, based on habitats, supports their learning about the animals that live in these contrasting climates. In English, we use the text 'Leaf' to inspire our writing. In this story, the polar bear ends up in an unfamiliar and unfriendly new habitat and wants to find his way home.
In maths, we continue to develop our number fluency by counting in multiples of 2, 5 and 10 and applying this to our multiplication and division methods. In DT, we design and sew mittens for our cold climate and in art we develop our drawing skills, using different artists as a stimulus for our work.
