Parents' Forum

The role of this group is to promote regular, open communication between parents and the school. It is a great way for parents to find out more about how the school operates; it also provides a regular opportunity for the school to gather parents’ views about our service and to gain parental input into the decision-making process when changes are being planned.

There is a named representative for each year group:

The role of the year group representative is to act on behalf of other parents and to provide a channel of communication for those who are not able to attend meetings but would like to raise a topic for discussion. Any parent may email their year group representative at any time and request that an item be included for discussion at the next Parents’ Forum meeting. All meetings are recorded and the notes of discussions can be downloaded from the school’s website. The representatives have already identified that future topics for discussion should include: after school provision, sex and relationships education, school improvement, responses received from the annual parents’ survey.

The role of the Parents’ Forum is to discuss issues relevant to the school as a whole and the service we provide to all our pupils and their families; it is not a forum for raising individual issues. This should still be done by approaching your child’s class teacher in the first instance.
