I have been part of the team at Northgate Primary School since 2006. I completed my Learning Mentor training in 2011 and became the full time Learning Mentor at Northgate. In 2018 I completed ELSA training and trained as a Youth Mental Health First Aider in 2019.

Building good relationships with children and their families is paramount to my role. In school I help children overcome barriers to learning, supporting them with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. I work with the children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping with many issues such as understanding their emotions, self esteem, bereavement, anger management and school avoidance.

Helping children make positive changes to their lives and being able to achieve their full potential is hugely rewarding and I enjoy being a part of the Northgate team. You will find me most mornings on the Barnfield Road gate.
