| Hi, I’m Louise, the Family Support Worker here at Northgate. I have worked in schools directly and indirectly for about 20 years, combined with a long time at Children’s Services working with children with challenging behaviour. Using a solution focused basis for my practice, I support families and children throughout West Sussex with parenting strategies and emotional well-being, which is fulfilling and deeply rewarding. As an accredited Triple P Parenting facilitator, my role here at Northgate is to support and signpost families where necessary. If you have any worries, concerns or queries about your family and/or children, I can help you as a family through different processes and work alongside agencies outside school to support your parenting. |
I also work 1:1 with the children in school supporting them with good mental health, helping them overcome barriers to learning while working in a relaxed and gentle manner.
Children’s mental and emotional health is of paramount importance to me and through a trauma informed practice I:
- support children to be the best they can be;
- give them time and space to talk and play;
- listen to them without judgement;
- allow space for regulation;
- support them to have a voice.
