Librarians
Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Librarians
The class librarians have the important role of looking after our class book corners. Their main role is to help to foster a love of reading in their classes. They have been invited to 'pimp up' their book corners this year to encourage their classmates to enjoy spending time in the book corners. They support their class teacher to audit the books in their class library to make sure they have a range of good quality texts and genres to choose from. They have a crucial role of recommending books to their peers. They conduct daily checks of the reading corners to make sure that the books are well looked after and the class libraries remain a comfortable and inviting place to sit back, relax and enjoy a good book.
The Year 6 Assistant Librarians are an invaluable team of trained student librarians that help Dr Dunn in the day-to-day running of the library. All six children have been selected through a formal application and interview process and have been trained in all library duties, from shelving books by reading level and author surname, to thinking up ideas for library projects and helping with displays.
