The children all took part in Democracy Day this week. They put themselves forward for various leadership roles including class librarian, school council, eco council and house captains. The children had to deliver a presentation on why they believed they should be selected and then there was a class vote. Well done to all who took part and our new school leadership team! 

Nursery have welcomed three lovely new guinea pigs! The children have loved naming them and figuring out what they like to eat! The children will learn valuable lessons in how to take care of a pet - whilst giving all the cuddles!

Year 4 Girls Rugby festival

The girls learned some new skills including how to ‘kick a grubber!’.  Everyone seemed to have a fantastic time and many said they might go to the new all-girls Rhapsody Rugby Club at Southgate fields on Sundays at 10am.  Boys, if you are interested in Rugby, Crawley Rugby club in Ifield also run training on a Sunday morning at 10am!  Girls are welcome at Crawley RFC too!

Year 6 Girls Football District Cup

With some very experienced opposition, our girls held their own, winning two, drawing two and losing one.  A couple of the girls also got given an invitation to trial for Crawley Wasps!

Some of the children in Y6 have been on their residential trip to Little Canada this weekend! The children have had a fun filled weekend of buggy building, adventure assault course, learning how to kayak and testing their courage on the giant swing!

The children have their final day today before heading home this afternoon. We wish them a safe journey home! 

NYE Building Supplies - Proud to be Local

I was absolutely delighted to receive a message saying we had won £1000 in the NYE - Proud to be local campaign. Thank you for all of your votes on social media - the NGPS community has once again been a brilliant support for us. We will put the additional funds towards in the pot for our new KS1 library. Year 6 have enjoyed forest school today, they have been out in the rain learning how to build their own fires, whittle with knives and tie knots for den building! 

Firstly, a big thank you to Mrs Sims and her son, Yaseen, for collecting products for the refugees.

We also want to say a big thank you to all the Northgate parents and children who donated toiletry products. These will be super beneficial to all the families that receive them. 

And lastly, thank you to our year 6 children for helping to sort and arrange all the products!
