Today the children have had the opportunity to vote for representatives for pupil councils. The votes are being counted and we will announce the results next week.

Having the children's voice about how we can improve our school is so important as they come up with ideas that we as adults wouldn't always think of.

This year they will be deciding on how to improve break times, how we can be more environmentally friendly and what we can do to improve the learning experiences for everyone.

Well done to everyone who prepared speeches and put themselves forward.

This week the children in Y2-Y6 have been having workshops with the Education and Community Officers from Dogs Trust.

The classes have had lessons on how to be dog smart! This includes how you approach a dog you don't know, how we look after dogs in our homes and what to do if we find a dog in need.

The children have loved learning more about dogs especially with our school dog, Khush here!

Our Y6 children went to The Hawth to take part in this years' Junior Citizen. 

Junior Citizen is an event run by Crawley Borough Council which is run annually. The event teaches children how to deal with hazardous situations involving Food, Electricity, Road and Rail Safety.  The children also learn about Stranger Danger; and other incidents that can occur in every day life.

The children get a chance to talk to police, fire and rescue services and how to best look after our planet with workshops with water and electricity companies.

Yesterday saw the first football tournament of the year for our year 5 and 6 boys and the first team to show off our new kit- designed by the last year 6s who worked alongside Crawley town FC to create the logo, colours, design and a catchy slogan.

The team played exceptionally well with no loses, they worked well as a team and their resilience throughout each match paid off, they only missed out on a place in the finals by one goal difference! 

Well done to Charlie, Tyler, Tharveen, Jacob, Ellis, Amin, Mohammed and Siddhant- you were all superstars! 

The year 3s were offered the opportunity to ‘Try’ out rugby on Thursday at St Francis Rugby club.  They had a great time learning new skills in the morning followed by some small sided games in the afternoon!

All of our new children have been thriving in our new Nursery building and really enjoying lots of new experiences!

Our Plum children have moved to the old children and family centre on Barnfield Road, a purpose built nursery designed around our children.
