  • Y4 and Y6 Rounders at Hazelwick!

    Thu 14 Jul 2022

The year 6 and year 4 rounders teams were in action at Hazelwick on Wednesday, entering two teams in both age groups.

The year 4 tournament was very close with some excellent batting from all teams.  All teams ended up on the same points, so 'rounders for' were counted which put Northgate A first and Northgate B second.

The year 6 tournament was also a real success for both Northgate teams winning all their games except one; Northgate 1 v Northgate 2 which could only have one winner!  The result meant, again, we placed first and second.

    - Mrs Amanda Billington - PE Lead

    Well done teams!

There are no local rounders clubs, but you could try baseball or softball.  Why not play a game with your family over the summer holidays.  You could replace the posts for jumpers(!) and use a tennis racket or even play by kicking a football instead!  Younger siblings could get double points or have a smaller track to run around!  What alternative rules could you come up with?  But most importantly - have fun!

  • Y5 Girls Sussex County Cricket Finals!

    Wed 06 Jul 2022

The year 5 girls cricket team played in the Sussex county finals in Henfield on Wednesday after winning the Crawley Area finals. The met some very experienced year 6 opposition which puts us in good stead for next year. Our batting and fielding were just as good as the opposition but our extra balls where what gave our games away. The girls improved game on game and managed to hold their own winning their last game very convincingly. We look forward to seeing how they progress into next year's competitions.

If you or your child are interested in giving cricket a go, the two nearest clubs are Ifield and Three bridges cricket clubs. Both have men's, women's, boys, girls and mixed teams. For further information please find them on the internet or ask Mrs Billington for further information.
