    Two Black Belts!

Yasmin and Farah, Y5 Beech and Chestnut led our Y5 and Y6 assembly this week! Both girls have done amazing in getting their black belts in karate which took dedication and hard work, this is what the girls had to say:

''We started karate when we were four years old.

Between white and black belt, we have had eighteen belts.

We had graded every three months until pre-dan belt which was red and black.

After that, we spent one year in pre-dan class.

At first, we did one class a week, then two classes, then finally, to prepare for black belt, four. But now we are back to two classes a week.

Last month, we graded for black belt. It spread over two days.  It was very hard.  The first day was skills (like punching and kicking) and also katas. The second day was fitness, which was things like running eight kilometres and push-ups.  This took four hours, but...

It paid off! And we have BLACK BELTS!''
